August Wrap-Up and a SUPER IMPORTANT AND AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENT

Hey everyone!

First off, sorry I’ve been almost completely absent on Twitter this week! I started school, and it’s been pretty intense and weird and exciting, but I’ll talk about that a little more later. I promise I’m not going to disappear anytime soon, especially with all the awesome things I have planned for this month and more.

I thought that because August was such a crazy month for me, I wanted to share some of the things that have happened, and also share how Spun From Ink is doing. I want to make sure I’m being as transparent as possible with you guys, especially since there’s so many awesome things that I want you to be a part of as I start moving this blog forward. Make sure to start keeping an eye out for these kinds of posts at the beginning of every month so that you can know about all the amazing things headed your way!

August Stats Goals:

August was a pretty big month for Spun From Ink. July was spent recovering from a few months on not posting, so August was really my buckling down and strategizing month. I focused a lot on using Twitter to start connecting with other writers and bloggers, and I think that effort really paid off. I doubled my page views from last month, and I hope that I can make that happen again this month so that I can beat my record from way back in January. Almost a third of that traffic came from Twitter, so I think I can say that my Twitter experiment this month has been a success. I also am making amazing connections with other writers and readers. It’s an amazing community, and I’m so glad that I’m a part of it. (You should be too!)

Actual Stats:

78 Page Views (Last Month: 35) (Best Ever: 145)

32 Visitors (Last Month: 22) (Best Ever: 87)

23 Twitter Referrals (Last Month: 1) (New Record!)

August Reading Goals

Okay, I was very ambitious in my August Reading Goals post. Excessively so, I think. One of the main problems I had was thinking that I was going to get reading done on the way down to and up from Ohio, and that didn’t happen. I did at least finish Scorch Trials, so I won’t feel guilty about seeing the movie later this month. Other than that though…well, All Our Yesterdays is tough. I want to like, it has a little bit of my interest and curiosity about what the heck happened, but Marina is just…ick and I feel like it’s just getting so drawn out. Hopefully, I’ll do better for my September TBR, which will be up soon. Make sure to friend me on goodreads to keep up with my reading escapades!

How I Feel

Honestly, I am so happy that August is over. Even though I am now in a long-distance relationship, it’s better than feeling the nerves and dread that has been building for over a year- ever since my boyfriend made the decision to go to Ohio and leave me in Michigan. We’re both pursuing our passions and dreams, and even if it’s not what either of us planned, we’re figuring out how to make it work.

I’m also glad to be back at school. Not going during the summer is great, but having the structure and social life that school provides is so refreshing after such a lon break. I’m also excited to be finally going to my dream school and to explore all of the opportunities available at such a big school. My classes are all pretty great, and I’m already learning so many interesting things about writing craft that I’m super pumped to share with you guys soon!

I think that’s everything I have for you guys right now! If you have any questions or want to know more about some of my adventures this month, please e-mail me at SpunFromInk@gmail.com, comment below, or ask me on twitter using @SpunFromInk. Now…

SUPER IMPORTANT AND AWESOME ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spun From Ink is Moving!

At the tail end of August, I decided to take the plunge and purchase hosting so that Spun From Ink could become self-hosted. If you’re not sure what that means, it’s basically one of the biggest steps toward helping Spun From Ink grow, and that within the next few months, you’re going to be seeing an amazing new website dedicated to helping writer grow at www.spunfromink.com. Other than that, you have nothing to worry about, except making sure you keep up with my announcements as I move forward with the big crazy moving and rebranding process.

We’re Gonna Be on Facebook, baby!

I’m planning on creating a facebook page and using it to unveil Spun From Ink’s new look around the middle of September, and giving away an awesome freebie to celebrate. Want to know what that freebie is? I don’t want to give it away now, but it might have something to do with one or all of these three posts.

Woohoo! Now that you know all of this awesome information about where Spun From Ink is heading and how we’ve been doing, make sure to subscribe to my blog either via e-mail or bloglovin’ so that you can keep up with all of the craziness that will be happening in the next few months.

Now it’s your turn:

What was your August like? Did you reach any important goals or milestones? Share your responses or anything else below using the comment box, then spread the love on Twitter using @spunfromink.
